Anonymous asked: Don't you find it rather obnoxious when people verbalize what they're style niche is? "I'm hipster," or "I'm prep." Do you think it's better not to say, and let appearance speak for itself?
I am personally not a fan of labeling people under a specific category in any aspect of life. I agree that it is more appropriate to let actions and purpose define a person. Remember, you can’t judge a book by its cover. Some of the nicest and most good-hearted people in life may not be as heavily adorned with accessories and designer labels as others, but that does not determine their worth or make them any less. My point is that whether you define yourself as “preppy”, “hipster”, “indie”, “mod”, or just plain trying to get by, it is what you say, do, and feel that shows the world who you are.
Do not get me wrong though, good fashion does play a part in first impressions, so I am a HUGE supporter of always looking ones best [:
Cheers,
Caroline
